About Us

Greetings and welcome to Family of Faith United Methodist Church! Family of Faith is a vibrant, growing urban church located in Akron, Ohio, just minutes from the University of Akron campus.

At Family of Faith, our deepest desire is to experience God’s grace through the love of Christ that brings forth healing, wholeness and hope to all God’s children.

We are a church formed in 2009 from the congregation-led merger of the former Church of the Master and Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Churches in Akron.

Family of Faith offers a variety of opportunities to engage in and develop a personal, loving relationship with God. Whether you prefer a traditional style of worship or a more contemporary expression of your faith, our services provide an atmosphere of joyous celebration mixed with reverent recognition of the power and majesty of God in our lives.

Parents looking for quality Christian Education for their children will love our vital, interactive rotation-style children’s program that engages kids in ways that make the stories of the Bible come alive. Young adults and families can experience the blessings of a “true faith community” through a variety of fun social activities designed to deepen one’s Spiritual foundation and support.

Our Keenagers group offers retirees an opportunity to engage in exciting day trips around the area as well as fun-filled luncheons that never lack in good food, laughter and entertainment.

Most importantly, Family of Faith places a strong emphasis on being ambassadors of God’s love and grace to a lost and broken world. As a result, at Family of Faith, you’ll be challenged to join us in a myriad of mission opportunities throughout the year from our Mission Saturation Weekend to our God’s Sheep Community Christmas Dinner that serve God’s children in need. We invite you to join us in a Spiritual journey that’s exciting and relevant as we grow closer to God and each other through various ministries, missions, scriptural studies and engaging, Spirit-filled worship.
