Rev. Ronald J. Shultz


    Pastor Ron Shultz has been the pastor at Family of Faith since July 2009. Pastor Ron was born and raised in the Akron area having attended David Hill and Harris Elementary schools as well as Jennings Jr. High before graduating from Green High School in 1976. Pastor Ron holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Family and Child Development in 2000 from The University of Akron along with a Master of Divinity degree in 2007 from Methodist Theological School in Ohio where he received the inaugural Nystrand Award presented to a rising senior in the M.Div. program who demonstrates promise in Homiletics. Before being appointed to Family of Faith, Pastor Ron served the Easton and Marshallville United Methodist Churches in Wayne County. Pastor Ron loves the outdoors and is an avid golfer. When he’s not working, golfing or walking, Pastor Ron likes to watch college football. He is a devoted, long-suffering Cleveland Indians fan who always believes “next year is our year!” While at the University of Akron, Pastor Ron showed his school spirit by serving as the Zippy mascot.

        Heather Boso

        Director of Christian Education

        Heather Boso, the Director of Christian Education at Family of Faith United Methodist Church, loves inspiring our children to continually learn & develop their faith through fun & interactive lessons. Heather works closely with Jessica, our Education Coordinator, to create fun ways to teach the Bible through snack, craft, recreation and music lessons. While spending a lot of time in our education wing greeting the children and teaching confirmation, Heather is also responsible for gathering supplies, recruiting volunteer Sunday school teachers and managing all of our fun children’s activities. She is always eager to hear the highlights of the past week and share some of her experiences. “Good News, Bad News” is one of her favorite times during the day as each child gets to share his or her accomplishments for the week. Heather is a Kent State University graduate with a degree in Advertising. She grew up in Stow with her parents and two sisters. While growing up, she and her family attended the Stow Community United Church of Christ where she was an active member of the youth group. She does visual merchandising for a nationwide arts and crafts chain. Heather loves spending family time with her husband, son, daughter, and their Cocker Spaniel. She is also an avid Ohio State football fan – GO BUCKS!

            Jessica Bates

            Curriculum Coordinator

            Jessica is a native of Akron and although she lived in Nashville, Tennessee throughout her teen years, she always considered Akron her home. In 2012, Jessica received her degree in Early Childhood Education. She and her husband welcomed their son in July 2015. Jessica has over 10 years experience working with children as a nanny, preschool teacher, summer camp counselor and more.  “I am so amazed and thankful that God led me to Family of Faith.  I absolutely love creating lessons for the children’s ministry and finding exciting, interactive ways to get them into the Word.

                Ellen Budd

                Director of Music

                Ellen Budd has been the Choir Director and Director of Music of Family of Faith and the previous Church of the Master congregations since 2000. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education plus a Master’s of Music in Choral Conducting. Ellen teaches elementary music in Kent. She lives in Stow with her two musically inclined teenagers.

                    Rex Roseman


                    Rex Roseman has been the organist at Family of Faith since the summer of 2012. His Bachelors of Arts degree from Muskingum University was on the piano and his Masters of Music degree from The University of Akron was in Organ. He has also been running a piano tuning and repairing business, Roseman Piano Tuning, since 1980. He has a Master of Ministry Certification from HarvestNet Institute and has served at churches for over 30 years. Rex and his wife grew up in Northeast Ohio and have resided in Akron for over 25 years.

                        Anisi Daniels Smith

                        Coordinator of Spiritual Development

                        Anisi Daniels Smith was born and raised in Ohio. She has served in ministry for over 20 years in various capacities such as pastor, leadership development, administration, religious education, and women's ministry. A graduate of Kent State University, she holds a B.A. degree in Psychology and an M.A. in Sociology. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in Sociology and is a college instructor. In addition to caring for her family, teaching and serving in ministry, Anisi cheers on the Dallas Cowboys and enjoys all things related to Wonder Woman.

                            Wil Lane

                            Wil Lane has been Family of Faith’s faithful day and night custodian since 2009. You’ll always see Will smiling when you see him around the church.
