Part-Time Contemporary Worship Leader

Progressive church seeks a dynamic and experienced worship leader for its weekly contemporary service. The worship leader will provide the following:

  • Lead weekly contemporary worship, combined services (e.g., Christmas and Easter), and special services, in consultation with the pastor and/or worship chair.
  • Coordinate sound support volunteers and schedule.
  • Schedule and conduct rehearsals and sound training as needed.

Preferred qualifications: musical performance experience; mature Christian faith; vocal and instrumental skill; familiarity with the United Methodist Church. Technical experience in use of Pro Presenter and AV/sound systems.

Compensation: $10,000 - $12,000 per year

Anticipated start date: August 1, 2018

Part-Time Early Childhood Educator

Primary Role: To provide consistent quality early childhood education to the toddler - Pre-K population of Family of Faith U.M. on a weekly basis.

Responsibilities:
  • Primary teacher for toddler-PreK population; greet children upon arrival and maintain a positive, open level of communication with parents and guardians.
  • Maintain classroom/ materials cleanliness and organization, bulletin boards during non-church hours (Sundays before 8:45 a.m./ after dismissal 12:15-12:30 p.m. or week days during church operating hours - See office manager for weekly schedule)
  • Keep records of attendance and children’s offering
  • Plan and teach age appropriate Christian education and Bible basics lessons using provided curriculum.
  • Collaborate with Sunday School Coordinator to select curriculum. Curriculum will be provided 2 months in advance for preparation and planning.
  • Administer and maintain Safe Sanctuary policies
  • Assist the Sunday School Coordinator (within the scope of weekly hours) in all events involving toddler-Pre-K population following the Christian teaching with a United Methodist emphasis where applicable at Family of Faith and South Arlington UMC (examples: include dramas, children’s programs, music, rehearsals, etc.) with assistance from the education committee and church membership.
  • Submit monthly report (verbal or email) to Education Chairperson upon request for monthly Education committee meeting.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings (within the scope of weekly hours)
Time Commitment: (minimum) 3.5 - (maximum) 5 hours per week as recorded on bi-weekly time-sheet and submitted to office manager 1 week prior to scheduled pay dates. Must be available and in attendance Sunday mornings. Attendance is required at all special events and children’s programs (within the scope of weekly hours).
 
Compensation: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
